The QuickTime Theater is a Macromind Director 3.0 Presentation utilizing the QuickTime XCMDs for movie playback. The presentation is optimized to run on a IIci with 8-bit color and 8 mb of RAM. However, it will play on any color-capable Macintosh with QuickTime installed.
Double Click on the file "QT Projector" to launch the presentation. The presentation will load and then pause at the first frame (a blank screen). Click anywhere on the screen to begin the presentation.
The presentation uses the left and right stage columns to navigate. Click on the right column to move to the next scene, click on the left column to return to the previous scene. Additionally, some scene have buttons on the stage to do various things like play a QuickTime movie. Please note the stage directions listed in the left column of the QuickTime Theater Script for details on when to click.
At any time during the presentation hitting the 'Return' key will go directly to the very beginning of the first section of the presentation.
Occasionally the XCMD used to drive QuickTime within MacroMind Director will start having problems such as: slow QT Movie playback, no QT movie audio, slow screen update of QT movies. Eventually some movies will fail to play at all. If any of these problems are observed, you should quit the presentation and restart the Mac. (In fact, if you are using the theater for repetitive presentations, it's advised that you quit Director after each one.) The problems should not cause a crash , but allocating lots of memory to Director (or the projector) seems to help.
